As the latest Delta SkyMiles card from American Express, the Blue Delta SkyMiles® Credit Card from American Express gives cardholders the opportunity to earn SkyMiles without a yearly fee. Not only can you earn 1 mile for every purchase, but the Blue card offers 2x miles on all Delta purchases — including flights, baggage fees, upgrades, and SkyClub passes and memberships. In addition to the 2x miles on Delta purchases, you'll also be able to earn 2x points on dining at US restaurants — something you typically only see on premium cards with $200+ yearly fees. What counts as a restaurant for the Blue Delta SkyMiles® Credit Card from American Express? Think any restaurant that isn't located within another establishment (e.g. hotel restaurant may count as a hotel purchase) and isn't a nightclub, convenience store, or other such establishment that sells food. More details here.
Purchasing Delta flights, gift cards, SkyClub passes and other direct Delta purchases for friends and family will accelerate your earnings. If you've got a targeted award ticket redemption and need to bridge the gap, consider purchasing miles directly from Delta — you'll earn your 2x miles for every dollar spent.
Like most cards on offer from American Express, this card also features a host of other perks, namely extended warranty, return protection, and purchase protection (terms apply). This card also gets Amex Entertainment Access®, which you can use to get event tickets in select cities, exclusively for American Express cardmembers.
In short, probably not, as those cards come with perks that you probably already deem worth the annual fee, whether it's a free checked bag or SkyClub access (my personal favorite!). Also, in order to be eligible for the sign-up bonus, you must not have had any American Express Delta card in the past 90 days.
