The Virgin Atlantic World Elite MasterCard offers 3X Flying Club miles on Virgin Atlantic purchases and 1.5X on all other purchases, without limit. Flying Club Miles can be redeemed for flights and upgrades with Virgin Atlantic and its network of partners. The main downside is that Virgin Atlantic doesn’t serve that many destinations. Of course you can fly one of the network partners, but those partners choose which flights they make available to Virgin Atlantic customers and reserve the best flights for their own customers.
For big spenders, this card offers a lot of bonus miles: 20,000 miles after you make your first purchases, 7,500 anniversary miles earned after $15,000 spent within the first year, and an additional 7,500 anniversary miles if you spend $25,000 within the first year. The combination of these rewards is enough to get you a round-trip ticket to London from anywhere in the U.S. Plus, by spending $25,000 within a year you’ll also qualify for a companion reward ticket for half the miles.
Keep in mind that the discounted companion fare bonus only applies during the year in which you earned it. If you don’t reach ,000 in spending until December 15, you will only have 15 days left to book your flight. To avoid missing out on this perk, keep tabs on your monthly spend and be sure to redeem your reward before it expires.
Finally, with this card you will earn 25 tier points for every $2,500 spent (up to 50 points per month and 600 per year) and 2,500 miles for each of the first 2 authorized users added to your card.
