This is a very good card for frequent American Airlines flyers looking to earn AAdvantage® miles, elite status, and bonus miles.

The AAdvantage® Aviator® Red World Elite Mastercard® offers 2X AAdvantage® miles for American Airlines purchases and 1X miles on everything else, a free checked bag, preferred boarding, and a 10% AAdvantage mileage bonus based on total miles earned.

Pro Tip:

International travelers take note: because of its smartchip, this card is more likely to be accepted internationally. That plus the fact that this card does not charge a foreign transaction fee make this an especially good card to bring with you overseas.

The Bottom Line

This card is best for AA frequent flyers who typically spend between $25,000-$30,000 a year. If you spend more than $30,000, an upgrade to the Silver version of the card will offer even greater benefits.
